This study aimed to adapt the Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction and Frustration Scale-Child (BPNSFS-C) (van der Kaap-Deeder et al., 2015), which examines the satisfaction and frustration of autonomy, relatedness, and competence. The sample consisted of 357 students (206 girls, 150 boys, Age M = 11.59, SD = 1.13) in the 5th, 6th, and 7th grades. The participants answered BPNSF-C, Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale and During the Past Week. In this direction, validity and reliability analyses of the scale were carried out, and its psychometric properties were examined. Confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson correlation analyses, MANOVA, and internal consistency tests were used to analyze the data. As a result of confirmatory factor analyses and internal consistency analyses, the six-factor structure was preserved, but it was decided to remove Item 19 from the scale due to its low factor loading. Criterion validity findings showed that higher levels of frustration were negatively correlated with self-esteem and positively correlated with depressive symptoms. Similarly, higher leves of satisfaction were negatively correlated with depressive symptoms and positively correlated with self-esteem. In summary, it was decided that the adapted scale was valid and reliable and an important measurement tool for the child sample in Turkey.
